Register Sequences

The register sequences is found in the Sequences tab in the Wordpress admin.

Sequence types

There are three sequence types:

  • Single Sequence
  • Sequence based on Brand
  • Sequence based on Product Setting

Single sequence

Every order goes in the same sequence. The total quantity of products ordered is rounded up based on the "Labels per Pack" value.

Sequence based on Brand

  1. If there arent any Brands set, the order is processed as a Single Sequence order.

  2. Only one brand specified, the selector on the product page is hidden, and every order goes to the added brand sequence.

  3. Multiple brands specified: every product has a brand selector on their product page. The user can select which brand they are ordering for. The customer can order the same product with two different brands. The order is grouped by brand, and each of the product quantities are summed, then rounded up based on the "Labels per Pack" value. For example, take this order:

    1. Product 1, Brand 1, quantity 75
    2. Product 1, brand 2, quantity 33
    3. Product 2, Brand 1, quantity 30
    4. Labels per Pack: 50
    5. The Order total: 105 labels for Brand 1, 33 labels for brand 2.
    6. Shipped: 150 Labels for Brand 1, 50 Labels for Brand 2

Sequence based on Product Setting

The store has multiple sequences. Each sequence is attached to a product. ( example: Product 1, 2 and 5 have Sequence 1, Products 3 and 4 have Sequence 2). Order quantities are rounded up based on the Labels per Pack value.

Changing the Sequence Year

Current Sequence Year is used to modify the current year of sequencing. Use it as "flip a switch" to start sequencing for the following year. Every sequence for that year will start from 0. Inventory count stays the same.

When an order is created

  1. Check which sequence is used in sequence options
  2. Define which sequences are used
  3. Define for how much each sequence increases by
  4. Write the used sequences in order meta
  5. Write in the order meta, how much each sequence is increased by
  6. Write in the order meta, how much quantity is for each sequence
  7. Save the new ending sequence for the sequence type

Nice to have

  • Keep different number of packs based on selected brand. Walmart has 50, Sams has 25..

Sequence type set on sequence per product level

  • Show which sequences are selected for which products, when the sequence is set on per product basis
  • Select a sequence type, select a sequence number, check which order is associated with this combination
